About Fleas
At this time of year, fleas are everywhere. I keep fleas off my dogs by applying Advantage monthly. Also by adding one tablespoon of applecider vinegar to 1 quart of my pets drinking water. I understand it makes the skin acidic and the fleas won't bite.
About Training
In the very beginning for one reason or another you may want your puppy to use a newspaper for deficating. Perhaps you need to leave him alone for a short while. Construct a small pen type area, maybe the bathroom. Place double layers of newspaper on one half of the floor and his bed, toys, food and water on the other. He will have no choice but to use the newspaper.
Puppy Training
The 8th and 9th week of puppy training, consisting of the basic 5, is very important to the mental state of your new German Shepherd puppy. Please ask us about this when you purchase a pup from us.
Praise
Hello Deb,
I received your letter regarding your boarding services. We will definitely keep this in mind. Attached are pictures of Ozzy, or as you knew him "W". He received a clean bill of health on his first vet visit and has steadily put on weight. He is already 45 lbs at 5 1/2 months. He has adapted well and my kids love him. There are also 2 pictures with Joe and his dog "Riley". We let them play together occasionally. I am glad that we found you and will certainly recommend you to anyone looking for a German Shepherd.

Dogs need a lot of praise when they do well. I guess I have their heart also. I love praise, Thanks John
Why Dogs Bite People

Deb & Rich,
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and everyone is doing well @ Hudson Point. This is just a quick email to let you know how Bella is doing. I have to admit when you told me she was the sweetest and smartest out of Creola's litter a part of me thought, right I bet she says that about all the pups. Let me apologize for that line of thinking because I KNOW you're right. Bella is the most wonderful, loving, SMART, sweet dog I have ever had the honor of being around. She is fast becoming the only reason people come to see us anymore - they don't even bother saying hello to us anymore they just go straight to Bella. I was a little concerned before we brought her home because of my other two girls (toy poodles, Abbey and Molly) but they have all made great friends and life is very good in the Harris house. I will be taking her to our vet in two weeks for her intro visit and to get her micro chipped, shots and whatever else she needs. I am SO HAPPY WITH HER, she is a joy to be around. She also makes the two spoiled poodles work a little harder, playing ball is one of her favorite things to do. She also loves to go for walks and walks very well on the leash (no pulling or anything) She is the newest most treasured member of our family and we humbly thank you for bringing her into our lives. . Hope you all have a great Christmas, good luck with Tiki & Captains litter. You have great dogs and I'm so happy we have one of them.

Sheila and John
Deb,
Sailor is a very pretty girl, and she has a tremendous personality. I have two ladies in the neighborhood who run out their doors to see Sailor when I or my mom walk her. People stop their cars and ask questions. I've even had three people ask me if she is a miniature shepherd because her markings and form are so perfect. I thought that was a strange question the first time, but then other people thought the same thing. Everywhere I take her, people come and tell me about the shepherds they had or knew a long time ago. She really draws attention. She loves to go to my cousin's outdoor seafood restaurant to see the people and check out the scenery.I really love her. She is over her difficult "puppy chew up the people" stage. She learns very fast. I am so glad we bought her from you.
Thanks,
Louise
I dont know if you remember me, my name is John. I had pick of the males in the litter born Feb 1st, from Jimmy and Marquarita. We named him LEO, and he just turned 9 months old on Nov 1st. He has grown into a beutiful shepherd just like his mom and dad. His markings are great and he has a wonderful temperment. The whole family loves him, he is very spoiled. He has become our 4th child. He is so great with the kids, they love playing with him. I just wanted to touch base and say thank you for allowing us to share in your passion. I sent you a picture when he was a few months old, here are some recent pictures, hope you enjoy them. Talk to you soon
Hi Deb… it's Tuesday morning (7:18 a.m.) Dec. 9th… I just had to send you a note to let you know SPENCER is the hit of the neighborhood!!! We have traffic jams in front of our home because everyone wants to look at him and get a kiss!!! Five women mobbed Bob last night when he had Spencer out… he thought the women were coming because of his good looks --- NOT SO…
They came to pet Spencer and get a kiss!!!
This little guy has captured an entire neighborhood… (we live in a small development; about 200 homes; everyone knows each other, and when word got out that "Bob & Gail had a new puppy" - all hell broke loose!!! Some lady actually stopped her car right in the middle of the main road into the development; got out - left the car running - and knelt down to pet and kiss Spencer… he did NOT disappoint her!!! This lady told Bob her friend had just paid something like $4,500.00 for a shepherd, but her friend's dog didn't look anything like SPENCER!! She's going to tell her friend she got ripped off!!!
Debbie, people are overwhelmed with Spencer; not only is he cute, loveable and smart, HE IS DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS!!!
Just standing in the yard, watching folks pass by, he's got that low hind-quarter "slope" to his stance that shepherds are famous for… everyone who walks by, wants to touch him!!!
He's doing very well at night and he's doing well with his food and bathroom duties!!! He's a beautiful dog!!! We are so very proud to own him… will send photos soon…
